A farm accident necessitated the reversal of traditional roles in the Bergey family, leaving the author in charge of the family cheese business at several farmers' markets. She comments on the changing dress of Mennonite women and their entry into business, describing the development of the sewing circles operating the profit-making Kitchener Cutting Room and the organization of the Women's Mission and Service Auxiliary as examples of the pattern of change.
