The author cites statistics showing Old Order Mennonites' responses to economic pressures in gradually accepting the use of farm machinery. The various groups are reported to agree in supporting the Mennonite Central Committee and separate Mennonite schools, in advocating the work programme for conscientious objectors as an alternative to military service, and in maintaining their right not to support the Canada Pension Plan.
