AB - A study of the Amish-Mennonite group descended from the immigrants to Ontario from Alsace-Lorraine in the 1820s and 1830s. The author examines the patterns of arches, loops, and whorls found on the fingers and the volar pads of the hand to determine whether increased homozygosity can be associated with any recognizable change in genetic traits of a culturally isolated group.
