Peterson, this weekly was the first to be published in Waterloo County and among the first German-language newspapers in Canada. It ceased publication when Peterson was appointed Registrar of the Wellington District and moved to Guelph, but was immediately followed by another paper, "Der Deutsch Canadier", published by Heinrich Eby and edited by Christian Enslin. Kitchener Public Library holds microfilm copies of the following issues: 27 August 1835 to 20 October 1836, 3 November 1836 to 13 December 1838, 22 December 1838 to 18 December 1840. The Doris Lewis Rare Book Room of the University of Waterloo Library holds an 1888 reprint of the first four-page edition of the paper that was printed in Berlin in 1835.
