The introduction notes that the first log church was built in 1847-48 and the cemetery was officially established in 1850, though some burials occurred earlier. In 1893, the Strasburg congregation decided to join the St James Lutheran Church in Mannheim. The site was marked as an historic site by the Kitchener LA -CAC and restored by the City of Kitchener as part of the development of the Huron Business Park.
