AB - An analysis of the changing distribution and organization of law practices in southern Ontario communities, in relation to the main phases of business activity. Lawyers are described as members of "overlapping elites" who combined leadership in economic, political and associational roles. The main phases and themes are explored in case studies of lawyers in the neighbouring towns of Guelph and Berlin. Names of the Berlin lawyers and business corporations have been indexed in the WRP database.
