An introductory essay discusses the sources and comments on the variety of cultures and communities based on ethnicity and birthplaces, occupations and property, and religious denominations. Following an alphabetical index of all household heads and property-owners, they are listed with more details within each school section community. Some 1,640 personal names are indexed with this record. The TREMAINE database may also be searched electronically on the Waterloo Historical Society computer in the Grace Schmidt Room of Local History at the Kitchener Public Library.},
