The book contains a fictionalized description of the courtship and marriage of his great- grandparents in 1849. Louis Breithaupt, who later married Margaret's sister Catharine, was a good friend of Jacob Wagner, and the Wagner marriage took place in the home of Liborius Breithaupt. A visit to the author's relative, Edna Staebler, is also recounted.},
